Year 6 Children and Parents/Carers

Don't forget the Year 6 meeting tonight. 3:00 in the school hall.

Last year Oldham Council arranged drop in sessions at Oldham Library to support parents/carers that needed additional help to make an online application for their child’s primary/secondary school place.

This support will continue to be made available this year for parents/carers applying for a school place for reception or year 7 in September 2014 at the following times/venue;

• Oldham Library, Union Street, Oldham

• Every Thursday morning starting Thursday 26 September 2013 – Thursday 09 January 2014 (inclusive)

• Time; 9.30 am - 12.30 pm

The Library will have a number of allocated computers that parents/carers can use and there will be Local Authority staff present to offer support.

Please can you inform all parents in your school nursery and/or in year 6 that these sessions are available and the importance of completing the online application form on time, as failure to do so could result in them not getting their preferred school.

Information regarding applying for reception places will follow shortly.

Years 1 and 2 Sports Day

Today in the lovely Summer sunshine we had the Years 1 and 2 Sports Day! We had many activities which included football dribble, discus throw, hurdles, bean-bag throw, running and skipping!
It was a lovely morning enjoyed by everyone.

Bake Off Business Enterprise project!

On Friday 28th June we held our Bake Off Business Enterprise Project in the hall.
The products created by the pupils were amazing!
In total the children raised £225!

The Year 6 children have been given the task of raising some money towards the end of year prom. They have each had to form a group and develop a business with something to sell.

All the selling will be done on Tuesday 11th June.

Here are some of the adverts the groups designed to help sell their goods!

There are also some pictures of the children delivering their sales pitch to the whole school!!

The Circus comes to St Thomas's

We had a visit from the lovely people from Magical Circus this week. Melanie and Angelo brought lots of equipment for us to use.
We started off with a warm up and were quickly juggling, spinning plates and using stilts! Angelo even used a tightwire! It was a terrific afternoon which finished with a Parents Assembly where we demonstrated our newly found skills to our Mums and Dads.

Thank you Melanie and Angelo! It was a wonderful day!
