Take a journey through time back to 900AD!

One of our topics is AD900 and we began with looking at life in Britain in 900 AD with the Anglo-Saxons and Viking invasions. This culminated in an excellent trip to Murton Park in Yorkshire where our teachers were slaves! We will be researching the Mayans and comparing them to the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, presenting our work in different ways. We will look at the Mayan number system and their glyphs for writing before we investigate the fall of the Mayan empire and the theories behind it. We will then look at the city of Benin in Africa and compare and contrast their empire before we study the ‘Golden Age’ of the Islamic empire, their art and also their decline. We are very excited about this topic and would welcome any support from parents!
