Newsletter 6th October 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a busy few weeks since returning to school.  So far, we have had Shakespeare in Year 5, Cave paintings in Year 3 and a Mayan day in Year 6 with more exciting things planned between now and half term.

COVID

The number of COVID cases in the Oldham area are still quite high and even though some of the restrictions nationally have been lifted, some are still in place with the highest percentage of new cases being in school aged children.  We are still following our enhanced cleaning plan in school and children are cleaning their hands using sanitizer very regularly.

Parking

Can I ask all people dropping off and picking up in cars to be mindful of the safety of our children.  There should be no cars parking on the zigzags at the front of school or anybody blocking the road leading to the staff car park round by Reception and Nursery.

Uniform

Can children please come to school every day wearing the correct school uniform (yellow polo shirt, green jumper, black trousers or skirt and black shoes).  On the PE day children should come to school wearing black trousers or leggings, a plain white t-shirt and black trainers or pumps.

Time keeping

Children need to arrive at school for 8:50 so that lessons can start on time.  All children are now being picked up at 3:00.  Can I please ask that you are punctual when dropping off and picking up.

Breakfast club and dinner money

Breakfast club is running from 8:00 until 8:50 in the school hall at a cost of £1.50.  This needs to be paid through the ParentPay app.

Dinner money is £12.75 per week.  This is also paid through ParentPay.  Some children are slightly behind on their payments for both dinners and breakfast club.  Please check and keep your payments up to date.

Operoo

A letter will be sent out later this week introducing you all to a new system called Operoo.  This is an online way of sending letters, updating information and getting permission for trips.  Please keep a look out for the letter as there as certain things you need to do to be able to log in and make changes.

Mental Health Day

This Friday school are thinking about the mental health of our school family.  We will be completing a number of activities in class and thinking about ways in which we can keep ourselves feeling good.  As part of this all children and staff will be wearing brightly coloured clothing instead of their normal uniform.

Message from Nursery and the 2-Year olds

On Friday 22nd October Nursery and the 2-year olds are having a fancy dress day.  Can we ask parents for a £1 donation to go towards developing a new home corner.  More information will follow nearer the time.

As ever, thank you all for your support.

Mr McGrath and Mrs Knowles
