Relationships and Health Education (RHE)

At St Thomas', we believe that Relationships Education and Health Education are vital for preparing our children for their future lives. We want them to lead happy, healthy lives, confident in themselves and able to look after themselves.

We will always encourage the children to share their own views whilst challenging their thinking, particularly with regard to stereotypes and potential prejudices. Our aim is to prepare the children for life in our diverse, multi-cultural society in modern Britain, sharing mutual respect.

Our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) work encompasses all the statutory requirements for Relationships and Health Education.

Parent/Carer Consultation

It is important that every parent is involved in all parts of the education of their child and we want this consultation around the new RSE requirements to be a useful and informative engagement exercise for our school. Therefore, if you have any feedback or comments about any of the elements of our policy, then please let us know using the form below.  We will use this information to help us make any final decisions about our policy and curriculum, so your comments are very welcome.

Once this feedback process finishes, we will then take any views and opinions into consideration before we close the consultation and publish the final versions of our RHE policy and curriculum overview.  This policy and curriculum will then come into immediate effect.

Please note, this consultation is for parents/carers of pupils attending St Thomas' CofE Primary School only.
