Ramadan Mubarak! We wish you all a safe and happy time at home. We hope that you all doing well and that you are managing to do some of the work we have set. It is great to see your progress on Purple Mash, Lexia and Time Tables Rockstars! Please keep this up.
We will be sending some more small work packs out soon, so look out for these. If you are keen, these will also be on the class website soon. Remember you can use your purple books to do the work in.
If you do want to do some additional work online, we recommend the English tasks on https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zmyxxyc/year-3-and-p4-lessons/1
We will continue to phone home to check how you. It would be great if you could tell us about a book you are currently reading, so please get reading!
From Mr Cockson, Miss Lee, Miss Tash, Mrs Jones and Miss Platt
We have sent home a purple exercise books filled with activities for each child to work from at home. These contain ten activities for both English and Maths. Please try not to rush these. It would be better to spend more time doing a few of these rather than rushing through them all.
We have also sent home a full book of comprehension activities, and maths activities. Children should initially only attempt to complete activities that we have learnt about in class.
Furthermore, we have sent home passwords for Lexia, Purple Mash and Times Tables Rockstars. The Year Three classes will have a timetable battle every Wednesday from 8am to 8pm.
In addition to these English and Maths challenges, there are also art activities and welfare activities, so pupils can help to look after themselves and be creative. Please do our best to stay active.
Extra activities will be added in due course.
Please continue to listen to government advice and be safe!
Additional Online English Lessons
Jane Considine, author of The Write Stuff, is delivering FREE English lessons every weekday live from YouTube during the schools closures.
Thousands of pupils (and teachers) are tuning in to learn from the expert. Every day, Jane sets the pupils a writing task using her tried and tested methods and the children carry out that task. They then send the completed work onto her, where she selects her favourite sentences of the day, and knits them together to make a full story. You can see some of her videos here.
If you want to join in, it couldn't be easier.Visit their YouTube account every morning at 9:45am ready for her first live broadcast where she announces the focus of the day.Return for her second livestream at 10:30am where she will do a short teaching session and issue the task.Carry out the task as instructed by Jane. Share the work on social media using the hashtag #SuperSentenceStacker.
Jane will them review the submissions and put them together to make the full story and she reads it out as a class reading session at 3:30pm. To join, simply click below and subscribe to our YouTube channel:
