We are delighted to welcome back all children from Monday 8th March at 8.40am with Year 5 and 6 children finishing the day at 2.50pm. We look forward to an exciting half term ahead and the Year 5 team have been working hard to prepare for children returning and offering a broad and balanced curriculum. We are so grateful for the children’s and parents’ efforts in home learning. In the first couple of weeks, we will be settling the children back into the school routine and assessing gaps so that children can be supported moving forward. There will also be a focus on wellbeing.

The Year 5 team
Welcome to Year 5. We are sure this year will be a successful one. This year, the staff in Year 5 are Mr Armstrong, Mrs Akhtar, Mr Cooke, Mrs Lomas, Mrs Iqbal and Mrs Bibi.
Remember to bring your book bag to school each and everyday containing your reading book(s) and reading record
You may also want to bring this week's spelling list in to practise.
Our PE days for this term are Tuesday. Please come into school wearing your PE kit as we are not getting changed in school this year.
We will also be doing the Daily Mile in the afternoons where possible - this will be done in their school uniform.
New Spellings will be given out on a Friday. They will be tested the following Friday.
As we are not collecting paper homework in at the moment, homework will be:
Reading Plus or Lexia
These will be checked to ensure children are accessing them over the weekend at some point.
Children also have reading books and it would be great for them to read to someone at home at least once a week.
