Newsletter – Week beginning 9th December 2019
What a busy few weeks we have had in school! We had two inspections in two weeks which have both gone very well. As soon as we receive the reports, we will share them with you all.
The next two weeks are packed with craft mornings, nativities and Christmas parties. All of the dates are at the end of this newsletter.
Powerful Owls have won the Owl Point challenge this term and, as a treat, can come in non-uniform on Tuesday to celebrate. Don’t forget to ask your child which Owl team they are in!
We have some staffing changes happening at the end of the term , two of our teachers are leaving.
Mrs Lishman is leaving school after 7 years to move to Australia with her family. We are sad to lose her but all wish her well in her new and exciting venture. She will be replaced in Reception by Mrs Taylor-Wrigley, an experienced Reception teacher who will work alongside Miss Layden.
Mrs Ahmed is leaving Year 1 and be replaced by Mrs Sharkey, an experienced teacher who has been working through school for the last half term.
Miss Whitehead is leaving school after working in our 2-year old room. She has completed her apprenticeship and we wish her luck in the future.
We are holding a competition in school led by the school council. If your child would like to enter they will need to make a Christmas decoration. Decorations will need to be in school by Wednesday 11th December. There is a 50p entry fee and a £10 prize for Smyths toy shop for the winning entry. Please be aware that this is an optional competition.
On Wednesday 11th December school will have a Christmas Jumper day. Any children (and parents!) who wish can wear their favourite Christmas jumper. We ask for a donation of £1.
On Saturday 14th December the Christmas Fayre will take place in the St Thomas Community Hub. It will be held at St Thomas Church from 11-4. There are many amazing stalls, games and activities planned. School are running a Tombola stall and staff are selling our new and exclusive school fleeces for the children. If you could make a donation to the tombola stall of any bottles, gifts, books or chocolate it would be very appreciated. Can these please go to the class teachers.
