Last week we had a visit from the 'History Man' This time he taught us all about World War 2, how the war started and how the countries involved became involved.

He brought numerous props from during the war including numerous Military hats etc. from different countries.
He also brought a genuine Air Raid Siren, it was very loud!
We also got to see a genuine old British Army rifle, a Lee Enfield .303 nearly 100 years old! This rifle saw service in both World Wars 1 and 2.

We talked about how radar was used to detect German Submarines in the Atlantic.
Even Miss Marshall got involved modelling a Serviceman's steel helmet

  • Snow fun!

    Thu 24 Jan 2013
Even though the snow caused problems for people travelling around Oldham on Monday and many local schools were closed St Thomas's managed to open as normal. This was made possible due to the hard work of the Site Manager who cleared the snow from the paths and made the site safe for walking.
Mr McGrath and his Year 6 pupils took advantage of the weather to build an igloo! Miss McIntyre and her Year 3 class also spent some time outside and made a snowman!
