Tuesday 15th May

Good morning,

We have less than 2 weeks until half term and have a lot going on between now and then.

This week is Key Stage 2 SATs week and the children have started with spelling and grammar tests yesterday.  They move onto reading today and then maths Wednesday  and Thursday.  The Year 2 children have been taking their tests for a week already now and have another week to go.

Today, the Year 5 children are going to Media City in Salford to watch a performance of the '10 Pieces'.  These are 10 pieces of music performed by a live orchestra in the television studios of the BBC  We applied for free tickets and got them!  It will be an amazing experience for them.

On Friday the Year 4 children have 3 Bikeability instructors coming into school to teach them how to ride a bike safely.  The children need to make sure that they return the permission letter and remember their bikes on Friday!!

To celebrate the Royal Wedding this weekend, the school council had special meeting yesterday to ask if we, as a school, could do something.  They have asked if all children would like to wear something either red, white or blue.  If they do not wish to they are welcome to come to school in school uniform

Week beginning 21st May

On Tuesday the Year 4 children have the Roman Soldiers in to visit.  They will learn to march, use their shields and how the Romans lived.

Tuesday the Year 2 children are visiting a local mosque.  Wednesday the Year 1 children are visiting a Synagogue.  On Friday the Year 2 children have a visit from the Falconry Centre where they are getting a chance to see some amazing birds of prey.

We then break up on Friday 25th May for 2 weeks.  We return to school on Monday 11th June at 8:50.
