History

Clem taught us lots of interesting facts about the Great Fire of London! We really enjoyed this interactive workshop.

In History, we have been learning about famous people from the past. We have learnt about the explorers Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong. We have discovered why they are famous and why we remember them to this day. We have discussed the remarkable things that they did and debated who we think was the best and why. At the end of the topic, we took a quiz to find out how much we had remembered. Our class average score was 9 out of 12... very impressive!!
We have also been learning about Rosa Parks and Nelson Mandela as part of Black History Month. We even had a visit from Chris Lubbe, who was Nelson Mandela's bodyguard. Year 2 received lots of positive comments from the other teachers because of their questions and respectful behaviour during the presentation.  Well done, Year 2!!
