1st September 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to the new term after a long and strange summer holiday.  We are all ready to start with the children on Thursday.  Most things will be the same in school, but some things will be different.

School Timings and Dropping off and picking up

School opens on Thursday to all children from Year 1 to Year 6.  The Year 5 and 6 children will be coming into school at 8:40 and leaving at 2:50.

The rest of the children will begin school at 8:50 and finish at 3:00 as normal.

Children in Reception and Nursery have been contacted via a letter before the end of term.

The children will be brought to the playground at the appropriate time and will need to be taken straight off the grounds.  If you are waiting for a brother or sister, can you please do so remembering social distancing on the playground.

The gate between Nursery and the playground will be locked; there will be no access for parents and children through here.

Can all Reception and Nursery children please go to the gates for the relevant classrooms to drop off and pick up.

Parents must wear a face covering at all times when on the school grounds.  If there is a reason why you are not required to wear one, please let a member of staff know.

Uniform and PE Kit

All children will be expected to wear the full school uniform on every day except for the day the classes have PE.  The children will need to come into school in their PE kit on this day and will wear it all day.

Can the uniform be washed daily, so that children come into school each day with a clean set of clothes.

A letter will follow explaining swimming when we get a confirmation date when it will start.

Please leave the site as soon as possible.

Things to bring

If the children bring coats, they will stay with them and be hung on the backs of chairs in the classrooms.

Lunchboxes will be taken to classrooms and placed next to their tables.

Book bags can be brought to school but needs only to contain the reading books being taken home.

The children do not need any stationery; pens, pencils, colours  and other equipment will be provided by school and kept in class.

Illness of symptoms

We are hoping to welcome back all of the children to school. However if either you, your child or anybody within your household shows any of the symptoms of COVID please refer to the government advice as quickly as possible.  Book a test and isolate yourself until the results come back.  If you do test ‘positive’ please inform school so that we can complete the test and trace process.

Children don’t need bags other their book bags – children don’t need pencils and pens they will be provided in school.

Before the holiday, all staff recorded a video on Seesaw welcoming the children to their new class and explaining which door they would need to come in, where to wash their hands and how to get to their classroom.  Please go back and watch the video again with your child.
