2 Year Old Provision

Welcome to the two year old provision!

We have been very fortunate to be able to offer this service to some of the 2 year olds in our community, if you would like more information or to find out if you are eligible, you can contact the children's centre: https://www.oldham.gov.uk/info/200504/childrens_centres/795/werneth_childrens_centre

Our Early Years curriculum is carefully planned to make sure that all children thrive and achieve. In the Two Year Old Provision we focus on the Three Prime areas. These three areas are crucial for a child's learning and development. These three prime areas are:

Personal, social and emotional development; Communication and language and Physical development.

We aim to support each child to identify their own sense of identity and self - worth, as well as focusing on each and every child’s individual needs and interests.

Take a look at the photographs to see what we’ve been up to in the polar bears room.

We look forward to sharing our journey with you,

Thank you

Miss Binks

SESSION TIMES

Our Two year old unit times are below:

Morning Session: 8.50am- 11.50am

Afternoon Session: 12.00pm-3.00pm

ONLINE LEARNING JOURNEYS

Your child's progress in school is recorded on an online learning journey (Tapestry) which you can access at home. Please make sure that you have given Miss Binks your email address so that she can activate your account.

Name labels in clothing

Please put your child's name in every item of clothing. Many children often have identical items of clothing and without names it is virtually impossible to get them back to the rightful owners.

Wellington boots

As part of the two year old unit your child will spend a large quantity of time outside regardless of the weather, therefore could you please ensure that they have a pair of wellington boots in school at all times. Please make sure that your child's name is written inside them.

Spare Clothing

Please can we ask that you send in a bag of spare clothes into the unit in case of any accidents. Again please ensure that you label every item of clothing and the bag with your child's name.

October 2015

Welcome back!

We hope you enjoyed the break.

This half term the two year old unit will be learning about light and dark. The children will be introduced to different light sources, animals that come out at night and shadows.

September 2015

Miss Binks (2 Year old Co-Ordinator) welcomes you to the 2 year old provision.

We are also very lucky to have Miss Doyle and Mrs Latham working alongside the children full time.

The children will be grouped into Key Person groups. Activities are carried out by a key person that the children have formed a particular bond with.

The children have access to a range of healthy snacks on a daily basis. We ask parents/carers to kindly contribute £2.50 per half term towards buying the snack.

The children have access to outdoor play in all weathers, please provide appropriate clothing, for example, a warm coat, wellingtons, hat, gloves and a scarf.

If your child is not yet toilet trained we ask that you provide your child with fresh nappies and wipes as well as several changes of clothing.

The topic this half term is all about 'Ourselves'. We will identify different parts of the body and how we use them. The children will also be learning a variety of nursery rhymes, ring games and number songs.

Thank you for your continued support.
