Parent Update September 25th

Parent Update 25th September

Dear Parents and Carers,

The Year 2 bubble has been required to close with the children and staff isolating until Tuesday 29thSeptember.  This means that they can return to all activities including school, mosque lessons, sports clubs and any tutoring from Wednesday 30th September.  It is very important that children stay isolated during this time and are not allowed onto the school grounds to pick up any brothers and sisters or play out with friends at home.

The reason the isolation period is shorter than the full 14 days was due to the child who tested positive already being away from school for a number of days before the test results were reported.

Can I remind parents if either they or a member of their household show any of the following main symptoms of COVID they need to isolate and seek a test immediately.

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Can I also remind parents that they MUST inform school the outcome of the tests as soon as they receive the notification.  We do get informed through the government track and trace system, but your information comes much quicker.

Thank you so much for your help and support when dropping off and picking up your children.  By turning up on time, wearing face coverings and maintaining social distance from others you are helping to keep yourself, your children and our school staff safe.

It is a challenging time for us all.  Please keep safe and keep following both local and government guidance.
