Newsletter 3rd December 2021

Dear Parents and carers,

We hope you are all staying well during these challenging and unusual times.  We have had a very successful and enjoyable term so far in school.  It has been wonderful to see the children in school progressing with their learning and spending time with their friends.

Sadly, due to some of the restrictions and safety concerns we have decided not to do our Christmas performance in the way we had hoped.  The children in the lower part of the school are still doing their performances but we are recording these ready to share with you on the school website.  I know this is not the same as seeing them in person but hopefully having the chance of seeing them on the video should help.

We will still be having the Christmas parties and other exciting events in school and we will fully risk assess these to ensure they are as safe as possible.

Health and safety audit

In the last few weeks school had a full audit of their health and safety and fire safety policies and provision.  It was a very thorough look at how we keep our school family safe within school and maintain the building in line with their guidance.  They also looked at our COVID provision and risk assessment.  I am pleased to say that they were very satisfied with everything they saw and did not feel we needed to change or alter anything we are currently doing.

Advent calendar

We have been asked to share a link with you from Oldham council.  It is an advent calendar with ideas and videos designed to help you are your child stay active while the weather is a little colder.

Vouchers for children in receipt of free school meals

The government have agreed to provide vouchers for the families of children who are in receipt of free school meals.  These will be sent out in the last week of term and come either by email or text message.

Operoo

If you haven’t already signed up for Operoo, please respond to the text message when t comes.  It allows you to update your personal information in school and give consent for trips and clubs without needing to sign and return letters.

Thank you, as ever, your all your support and care this term.  We break up on Friday 17th December at 1:30 and return to school on Tuesday 4th January when years 1-6 will be attending the pantomime in Oldham as a special new year treat.

Have a good weekend and hope to see you all soon
